...11 Months...

Sweet little baby Cohen was 11 months on May 6th. Time has gotten away from me and before I knew it he is almost 12 months and I still haven't done his 11 month post.  So here it goes :)

Our lives would be so dull without this little boy.  Everything from his little noises to his screams, to his laughing, to his many messes keep us quite entertained.

We love him.

Some of my favorite moments/pictures/new little things he's started doing this month:

Cohen watches tv like the little dog on 101 Dalmatians.  How do you tell a little baby not to get to close to the tv? You don't. He does this every single time without fail.  And he has discovered how to open those doors and get into everything in there.  Loves the DVD's.  We've solved this problem by tying a sock around the handles..classy.
His little body will bounce up and down when he likes something he is seeing, and he screams and does this little fake laugh thing. So silly.

He is such a little stinker.  I love these moments when he is just so happy playing with his toys and getting excited about who knows what.  Such a happy happy boy.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...this boy love love loves being outside.  But he does not like being in the grass.  His little legs will shoot up in the air and his arms go straight out...his core definitely gets a workout staying in that position!

He even loves to just look out the window to outside.  He loves flowers and loves to crawl up to them and if he could he would pick every single petal off every single flower if I let him.

Cohen loves bubbles.  He gets so excited when I show him the bottle and ask if he wants to go do bubbles...pretty cute! I wonder what is going through his mind when he sees them.  He tries to crawl after them but can't quite get to them before them pop.

Once he discovered how to stand up to things he has had many many bruises on his poor little forehead.

Still loves his little baby bath and his green toothbrush and rubber ducky.  {he has gotten in real bathtubs and he does not like them! He is used to this little bath and he prefers to bathe that way...our new apartment in Texas has a bathtub though and so he will hopefully learn to love them that way too!}

Love to play with his hair when I put lotion on him after his bath. One of my favorite parts of our day is getting him out of the bath and lathering him up in Baby Magic...I love me a clean, yummy smelling baby.  His least favorite part of the day is still getting his diaper changed and clothes on or off.

Loves to explore all over the house.  Always going going going and finding all sorts of odd things he likes to consider toys.

Cohen cannot just play with one toy at a time.  He has to have at least one toy in each hand. He loves to bang them together or on other things.

Kev graduated and Cohen was able to walk with him.  So cute. He was pretty happy about wearing that outfit...must have felt pretty awesome.

Cohen went swimming for the first time! We went to the Richards' pool and Cohen was pretty mellow about the whole thing.  Not overly excited but just happy to be there.

Church with this little boy is becoming quite the task.  I don't know how people have more than one child and even get a stinking thing out of church.  Cohen wanted nothing to do with sitting in Kev's arms during priesthood so Kevin entertained him by throwing his ball down the hall and he'd go get it over and over again.

Sometimes if we are lucky he will fall asleep during church since it's right in the middle of his nap time.  2-5 sure is a late time for church! Kevin even sneaks a nap in with him :)

Cohen loves his stuffed animals and is so good at giving them big slobbery kisses.  And me too...I love his big opened mouth slobbery kisses!

He loves the piano.  He'll crawl over to it and climb up and just pound away.  And if I try to play the piano he crawls really fast and climbs up next to me and reaches his little hand up and can barely reach but he'll hit the keys.  I end up picking him up and setting him on my lap and letting him play.  He loves it.

He is getting really good at standing up to things and getting more and more confident in his standing abilities...his wobbliness is going away.

I just love this picture of him. I think he looks so grown up.

Whenever Cohen falls asleep on one of us it is the greatest thing ever.
Rarely ever happens anymore :(

Still loves Kev's hats

I was trying to pack but he just wanted to play in the suitcase and take everything I had put in out.

Cohen doesn't really understand that swings are supposed to be fun yet. He puts his hands to his side and so when he is swinging it looks really funny.

He is loving eating more and more real food.  He loves fruit, especially watermelon, bananas, and strawberries.

He gets a little antsy while drinking his bottle.  He'll decide he doesn't want anymore so wants to get off my lap so I set him down and then a second later he realizes he wants more.  So he sometimes eats like this...like a little baby lamb.

Cohen's first time eating pizza...he approved.  Kevin is so excited to be able to eat real food with Cohen so he was pretty happy about this moment.

A few random things:
Cohen sleeps from about 7pm to 6:30-7 am... He takes 2 naps during the day and is pretty set on that schedule. He loves his grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, and cousins. He loves all animals...especially dogs when they lick his face he laughs and laughs. He wears 18-24 month clothes.
  ...

Cohs we love you!! We love you being in our lives and making us laugh every single day! Happy 11 months to you!!

...Texas...

Our flight home from Cancun stopped in Dallas and so we took advantage of that and stayed the night in Fort Worth...our soon to be new home.  We spent Saturday morning looking at apartments.  Some of them were a little creepyish. One apartment manager told us that sometimes they have to kick people from the state housing {mentally disabled and elderly people} out of the swimming pool.
That might make me a little nervous.

In the end, we accomplished what we went to do. We found a cute apartment in a cute neighborhood that will become our home.  So sad to leave Utah but I know many great experiences await us in Texas :)

Lunch at Panera Bakery...which will be a new favorite :)
UNT...Kevin's new school {aka life for the next 4 years}

...Mexico...

Kevin and I said goodbye to Cohen for 8 days {May 4-12} and were off to the beaches of Mexico. Saying bye and being away from that sweet boy for that long was hard! But being on vacation with Kev and our good friends {Winkel's and Clark's} was so incredibly fun!
 So excited for take-off!
We got a little bored on the plane haha...we are gooood looking!

Lots of beach volleyball was played by Kevin, Gavin, Brad, and Brittany.  I attempted to play and after about five seconds of it I realized I did not belong on that court! They were all so good...even 5 1/2 month pregnant Brittany was rocking it out there! So impressive. It is a blessing they had that there because it provided them many hours of entertainment while I was able to lay and read to my hearts desire...heavenly!

We went snorkeling which was great! We saw fish and some sting rays...Kevin saw and touched multiple sea turtles! Some of those fish were a bit grumpy because one of them bit Gavin right on the ear and made him bleed haha so funny!

The beach was amazing...so pretty! We spent a good portion of our trip laying and playing here and it was perfect.  I was looking so forward to laying on the beach drinking Diet Coke and reading my book...and that I did.  So wonderful!

Gav, Lacey & I made Kevin into a sand mermaid...cutest merMAN I've ever seen!

At the adults only pool they had these little cabanas you could sit in.  After a long day on the beach we needed a little R&R and this was the perfect little place to do so. We read our books while sipping on Diet Coke {aka Coca Cola Light} and Bahama Mamas and ended with a little nap.  Heavenly :)

We went mini-golfing at the resort and it wasn't the most exciting course in the world.  Every hole was the same as the one before it haha. Plus, we were all sweating beyond belief...so humid and hot!

Kevin had more than a few of these Bahama Mamas..virgin of course :)

Kevin took pictures of his some of his food so I thought I'd better add them on here too since they made him very happy :)
Dinner time was always a fun time! The resort had four different restaurants to choose from and a buffet.  Our favorites were the Japanese and French ones...but by the end we were definitely ready to not be eating there anymore!

{our waiter made my napkin into a bow and put it on my head...impressive}

i think he is so cute :)
Gav & Lacey
Brad & Britt + little baby boy
We copied Brat & Britt's threshold pose
We were trying to imitate the statue...Kevin and I both look a little awkward no?  Gavin refused to participate :)
Kevin loved these little hermit crabs that we'd see every night...and every time he'd have to stop and pick them up and play with them! He informed me that his first pet happen to be a hermit crab so he had a special place in his heart for them :) By the end of the week I kept telling him he'd already seen them and played with them and so he didn't need to stop and pick them up but he just loved them so much he couldn't help himself haha

He also loved the iguanas {or as Brynn called it a "huge lasagna!" She got lizard and iguana mixed up haha we had a good laugh about that}.  This was another animal that we'd see over and over again and every time Kevin wanted to stop and look at it and feed it.  He is so sweet to the animals :)

We ventured away from the resort with everyone and went into Playa Del Carmen. With every single shop selling the same thing and every person working at them trying to get us to come into theirs, we got a sick of it quick! We got what we needed {vanilla!} and went back the resort.

Kev and I went to Tulum one day and walked around the ruins.  It was pretty interesting and neat...for about 45 minutes and then we were sweating to death and ready to call it a day.  But really though it was really cool seeing the ruins and thinking about the fact that people actually lived there so long ago...crazy.

One night walking back from dinner, Lacey bet Kevin $7 to go down the slide.  He quicky turned that down but once she went up two more dollars he was all for it! So he did it and if you can't tell from the picture of us, he was quite pumped about the fact that he was $9 richer! Haha I seriously love that he is a little boy at heart...keeps my life so fun :)

The last picture is of Kevin's burn line...owie! We both put on sunscreen but somehow on one particular day we got fried! Aloe vera was $16 {Brad & Britt learned that the hard way} and so we toughed it out but not without the help of our blessed friend IBprofen.

Mexico came and went so quickly, and brought with it many lasting memories! Having good friends is such a blessing in our lives and we are so thankful we have them...the trip would not have been the same without our dear friends :)

*A huge thank you to our family who watched and loved and played with Cohen while we were gone! Being away from him for that long was not fun but knowing that he was getting so much love and attention made it easier! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! xoxo
